World Day of Prayer

This year's world day of prayer is on Friday 6 March at 2 p.m. at Kippen Church.

Lenten Walks

The first walk is on Saturday 29 February starting from Braeval Forestry Car Park at 10am, led by Iain Breakenridge of Port of Menteith Church. All are welcome, including dogs on leads. subsequent walks are:

21 March 10 a.m. Aberfoyle
28 March 10 a.m. Buchlyvie Church
  4 April 10 a.m. Norrieston Church Hall, Thornhill

The Kirk Session will meet on Tuesday 3 March in Buchlyvie Church Session Room:

Buchlyvie Blether

Come along for a bowl of soup, a sandwich and some good company at the Buchlyvie Blether, held on the last Friday of the month at Buchlyvie Church at 12:30 p.m. All welcome. £3 donation requested.

Christmas Decorations:

Will you Save or Dispose or might you Swap?  As part of our eco work, Margarets Sparkes and Margaret Miller would like to give a home to any unwanted Christmas lights and decorations which are still in good shape and could become part of our October 2020 Decorations Swap-Shop. Please either set them aside or put them into the collecting boxes in your church.  Thank you.

Kilombero rice

Kilombero Fairtrade rice is back! Get it for yourselves, your friends, Christmas presents, etc. 

Gargoyles of Gargunnock

After a very enjoyable evening at the Guild concert on Monday in the church, the Gargoyles of Gargunnock were delighted to have raised £181 for Butterfly Conservation, Scotland which is their designated charity this year. They are very grateful for the generosity of all who attended and contributed to this total.

Messy Church Summer BBQ

Thank you to everyone who attended. We raised £111.40p for Strathcarron Hospice. 

Traidcraft 

Although Traidcraft have reduced their range, they still sell a wide variety of Fair Trade goods, see https://www.traidcraftshop.co.uk or the print catalogues in the churches. If you take one of these home, please return it for others to use. Goods may be ordered postage-free from Fair Trader Rae Wilson, via Margaret Sparkes, mgtsparkes@btinternet.com of 01360 850492. Copies of Traidcraft’s Christmas catalogue are available by the church door for you to take. But hurry, the deadline for Christmas orders via Margaret is Monday 9th December.

Working Groups

Buchlyvie and Gartmore Churches are forming 4 joint working groups. All members of the Churches are invited to join one or more of the four working groups. 

Unitary Constitution

Buchlyvie Church have voted to adopt the Unitary Constitution. (Please see Church of Scotland site for more information  http://www.churchofscotland.org.uk/resources/office_bearers/formation_of_the_kirk/constitutions_of_the_kirk )

A number of events are held through the year, including:

Lenten Walks

A number of the churches in the area meet together each Saturday morning during lent for walks in or around each parish. These walks are open to everyone (and their dogs.) Pictures from previous walks are shown below.


Easter Sunday

An early morning open air service is held every Easter Sunday together with neighbouring churches.
